Price range: 9.000 EGP through 12.000 EGP
Foreigners must bring $25 in cash for the security permit.

These questions and answers provide key information to help you prepare for the challenge. Review them carefully so you’re ready to get the most out of the experience.
What are the registration fees?
- 30 km Challenge: 9,000 EGP
- 60 km Challenge: 11,000 EGP
The registration includes a bed space in a shared shed, with separate areas for males and females.
- Upgrade to a brick room: Additional 1,000 EGP per participant in a double occupancy room (you’ll be sharing the room with someone)
What is included in the registration fee?
A bed space in the shared shed is included in the registration fee. However, if you want to upgrade to a brick room for two people, there is an additional fee of 1000 EGP per person.

Included in the registration fee:
- Travel from and back to Cairo by bus
- Shed accommodation in the camp
- All meals: starting with lunch on Thursday and ending with breakfast on Saturday

- Aid station support/water/fresh fruits
- Professional photography during the challenge
What are the accommodation options?
- Standard: Large shared sheds (one is closed & will be for women only, and the other is semi-open and will be for men). Participants will sleep on mattresses on the ground. The mattresses will be provided by the camp. Each shed accommodates 15-20 people. There is also an open camping space if you prefer to bring your own tent. The weather will be perfect during daytime and a bit cold at night, which will make for great camping
- Optional: Limited number of double occupancy brick rooms (no bathroom). Each room has either one large bed or two twin beds
There will be a separate large tent in the camp where meals will be served and participants can socialize and relax

How about the transportation?
- Your registration fees include bus services from Cairo to the race venue and back. The drive from Cairo to Serabit El-Khadim will take 4-5 hours approximately.
- If you are flying into Cairo, please plan your arrival on Wednesday (5th November) and book your Cairo accommodation in the Maadi neighbourhood area, South Cairo. Do not plan flights out of Cairo before 9:00 pm on Saturday 8th November (Expected arrival in Cairo from Serabit El-Khadim after the challenge is 6:00 pm on Saturday 8th November).
Details for travelers and non-Egyptians
- When filling out the registration form, please ensure you upload a screenshot or a copy of your passport.
- If you are flying into Cairo, please plan your arrival on Wednesday, November 5th, and book your accommodation in the Maadi neighbourhood area, South Cairo.
- Do not plan flights out of Cairo before 9:00 pm on Saturday, 8 November.
- There is an additional 25 USD cash payment security permit fee per person for all non-Egyptians. Please bring exact change in cash USD.
- The base camp has good mobile network coverage. The challenge route has limited/no coverage.
Can I take my family or friends?
This is a limited-entry challenge. We will give priority to the runners first. We do not guarantee available spots for families and/or support crew. Please contact us directly for this specific issue.
What is the mandatory gear?
- Running Vest with a minimum of 1 litre water capacity (bladder and/or bottles)
- Trail running shoes / clothing
- Whistle + Emergency blanket
- Fully charged smartphone with pre-uploaded GPX route file / GPS sports watch with pre-uploaded GPX route file
- Headlamp + extra batteries
- Nutrition (min. 1,000 Kcal) and Electrolytes (min. 3,000 mg sodium)
- A small first aid kit
- 200 EGP in cash
What is the recommended gear?
- Running cap or hat, preferably with neck protection or a buff
- Sunglasses
- Sand gaiters
- Sunscreen
- Trekking/Trail running poles
- Power bank to charge your phone
Aside from the mandatory race gear, runners should also pack the following items:
- Sleeping bag, pillow, ear plugs (bed sheet if you need it. Camp will only provide mattresses)
- Warm layers, jacket, gloves, ice cap, etc.
- Headlamp, batteries and spare batteries
- Toiletries, towel, toilet paper, etc.
- Slippers
- Any special medications / personal items.
- Preferred beverages & snacks
What are the navigation requirement?
GPX route files will be provided to all participants for navigation purposes. Runners must download the files onto their sports watches and their smartphones using a reliable GPS navigation app. No participant will be allowed to start the challenge without the GPX file uploaded and saved on their device.
What about the medical support?
Challenge team at aid stations will provide basic first aid. In emergency cases, injured participants will be evacuated to the nearest hospital. We recommend that you have personal medical insurance, should you need to use it.
